Paul trained at undergraduate level at the University Of Ulster
(Jordanstown) obtaining a BSc (Hons.) in 1995.He then travelled to the
University Of Dundee Scotland in 1996 obtaining a postgraduate Diploma
with Distinction in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
In 1997, he also trained as an EMDR therapist obtaining certificates
at level I and level II. In 2000, he returned to Scotland and
completed his Masters MSc. in Cognitive Psychotherapy at the
University of Dundee. In addition he has also undertaken specialist
training in DSM- IV (1994) “Guide to diagnosis”
Since 1999 he has been involved in the teaching, training, and
supervision of various mental health professionals at The Queens
University Belfast, University of Ulster in Jordanstown and Magee
He is an accredited BABCP Psychotherapist, a BABCP accredited
supervisor, and specialises in the treatment of Depression, anxiety
disorders and PTSD.
Paul has been presenting the Certificate in CBT for the past three years
in Belfast. He is the Director of the International Institute for
Cognitive Therapy in Northern Ireland.
DR. JENNY MAGUIRE
Dr Jenny Maguire is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the South
Eastern Health and Social Care Trust based at the Ulster Hospital,
Belfast where she leads the Psychological Service for Chronic Pain and
Regional Plastic Surgery. She was previously in post in the Belfast
Health and Social Care Trust specializing in Adult Mental Health. Dr
Maguire completed her undergraduate degree and Ph.D. at Queens
University Belfast and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the
University of Liverpool. She is both HPC and BABCP accredited.
She has been presenting the Certificate in CBT in Belfast since 2011.
